Dear Patriots,

Many are hibernating as cold January weather swipes through the country, so we offer you a few longer pieces for contemplation.

1- It is refreshing and hopeful to read about the actions of the newly sworn-in Governor of Virginia. We will be watching his progress and we will pray he remains resolute.
VA Governor Glenn Youngkin Overturns Mandates and Takes on Critical Race Theory Immediately Upon Taking Office
QUOTE: Newly-minted Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin started his first day in office with a bang that could reverberate across the nation as a signal to other governors on the fence between the people and the donor class.
Signing a slate of executive orders, Youngkin fulfilled some of the biggest promises he made to voters during his groundbreaking gubernatorial run. The orders include:
• Ending the use of Critical Race Theory in public education
• Investigating “wrongdoing” in Loudon County
• Opening the economy for all business
• Withdrawing from previous “green energy” initiatives that have been harmful to Virginia’s economy and bureaucracy
• Slashing “job-killing” regulations
• Allowing parents and students to opt out of school mask mandates
• Rescinding vaccine mandates for all state employees
Youngkin also pledged to “restore integrity and confidence” in the state Parole Board, a move bolstered by the appointment of new Attorney General Jason Miyares, who has already announced he will begin the prosecution of criminal activities in districts in which Soros-backed District Attorneys refuse. There are also provisions for fighting human trafficking and antisemitism. Youngkin signed the orders immediately after his Saturday, January 15th inauguration.

2- We are thrilled to see that there are a few brave college students who have woken from their stupor of fear and indoctrination to tell their school to stop forcing experimental shots on them.
Read this whole letter and their thoughtful, fact-filled arguments. We pray this spreads to other college-aged Americans.
Editorial: UChicago Must End Its Booster Mandate—We Are Not Lab Rats
QUOTE: Per the University of Chicago’s newly announced booster mandate, all students and employees must obtain a booster shot by January 24. Those who do not comply will be barred from campus and restricted from attending in-person classes, among other activities.
This booster mandate is demonstrably unsafe, ineffective, unnecessary, inconsistent, and unethical. We’ve struggled beneath UChicago’s draconian COVID decrees for years, but the university’s booster mandate reaches a new height of absurdity.
UChicago claims to rely upon “expert” opinion in structuring its COVID regime. Yet, even advisory committees at the FDA and CDC initially declined to recommend the COVID booster for those under the age of 65.
QUOTE: Mandates for the COVID vaccine and booster are unnecessary to protect the health of the UChicago community.
COVID has a survival rate of over 99.87% for individuals under the age of 65.
According to the CDC, only 5% of “COVID deaths” are solely attributable to COVID as the cause. The other 95% of “COVID deaths” involve, on average, almost 4 additional conditions (comorbidities) or causes per death.
We will not play pretend by accepting our university’s gross exaggerations of the public health risks of catching and transmitting COVID. We will not live in fear.

3- It is not every day we can point to a current elected Senator and say they have consistently done well. Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) is one a very few.
9 Times Ron Johnson Triggered The Left — And Turned Out To Be Right
QUOTE: Sen. Ron Johnson is not planning his Senate retirement anytime soon. The Wisconsin lawmaker is running for reelection, he announced this week, at which the corrupt media predictably came out, guns blazing.
CNN’s Chris Cillizza, for instance, announced that the “Senate’s leading conspiracy theorist is running for another term,” and The Nation ran an article calling him an “off-the-deep-end” senator.
But while attention-seeking pundits attack Johnson for opinions that don’t conform to the left-wing narrative (opinions held among many Americans outside the Beltway, by the way), his opinions are often proved to be exactly right. There’s quite a long list of “Ron John” statements and actions that, after sending the media into a tizzy and Big Tech giants into a censorship spree, have held up quite well over time.

4- If there was any doubt that Democrats lay ground work for cheating long before the elections, this story will help dispel all doubt.
Democrats Block Plan to Remove Foreign Nationals from Voter Rolls
QUOTE: House Democrats this week blocked a plan that would have required states to remove foreign nationals from voter rolls.
On Wednesday, Democrats voted down an amendment by Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL) that would have kicked likely hundreds, and potentially thousands, of foreign nationals off state voter rolls.
The amendment would have been tacked onto the Democrats’ “Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act” which seeks to federalize all local and state elections with prohibitions on requiring photo identification when voting by mail and weakens current requirements that mandate states routinely clean their voter rolls.
All of this could be prevented if states were actually maintaining accurate voter rolls, which has been required by federal law for nearly 30 years. Whether intentional or not, we know this is happening, it’s undermining the integrity of our elections. This amendment would simply ensure those who are noncitizens, who do not have the right to vote in federal elections, are removed from states’ voter rolls. This is especially critical as my friends on the other side of the aisle push for a federal takeover of elections. House Democrats last blocked the amendment in December 2021.

5- The Great Shift. We may be in the middle of the largest realignment of the states in our lifetimes. Thankfully, we still have the freedom to move to places that maintain freedom for it’s citizens.
The Great Re-sorting Is Here
QUOTE: Americans have been fleeing the most liberal states in mass numbers. Those numbers are about to increase even more.
The only region of the country to gain population was the South, which now holds 38.3% of the total population of the country—and which picked up 657,682 Americans migrating from different areas. The Northeast is now the least populous region in the United States, and saw a net population decrease of 365,795 residents. All net increase in population in the West was due to births and international migration, not domestic moves.
It’s not just individuals—it’s companies. Facebook’s parent company, Meta, just signed the largest-ever lease in downtown Austin for floors 34 through 66 of the tallest tower in the city. Elon Musk has relocated his company headquarters to Texas. My own Daily Wire relocated in 2020 from California to Nashville, Tennessee.
In other words, red state governance is a magnet; blue state governance is a disaster. Yet blue states cannot change course. They cannot simply jettison their adherence to failed ideas like single-payer health care or voting for illegal immigrants. To do so would be to acknowledge error. And so instead, they are banking on unearned moral superiority—virtue signaling—to fill the gap where good governance should be.

6- This is a thoughtful and creative analysis of the current state of affairs. It also outlines why we must wrest power from our present mediocre government and bring back an intellectually vibrant America.
Mediocrity in power
QUOTE: Every nation has its fair share of people with no useful abilities, yet harboring considerable ambition and an insurmountable craving for la dolce vita. The longing is there, but with no means for its realization. So, what are they to do? Sooner or later the mediocre find a workable solution: they go into politics.
A sufficiently high position in a government structure that doesn’t require any special abilities or talents gives a nearly assured opportunity to receive lucrative benefits, including money, respect, and influence. There is a famous saying: “Those who can, do; those who can’t, teach.” There is a corollary: Those who can’t teach, govern.
This is how the selection process works: mediocrities float to the top. Thus, government agencies accumulate a number of bureaucratic politicians for whom the main goal in life is to hold on to their positions and, if possible, move up the career ladder. The good of the country and its people becomes secondary and intrusive. Many professional bureaucrats possess just one talent: seizing and holding onto power.
QUOTE: Over the past half-century, our political system has been transforming into a form of governance that I would call “dexiosocracy,” which in Greek means “the rule of the mediocre.” Consequently, the country is heading toward the abyss. The mediocrities have seized power, and we are reaping the rewards.
